Thank you for your interest in the FabriCare Foundation. Our mission is to lead the growth and future of our industry and its professionals through public relations, research and education.

Dry cleaning is one of the few remaining industries still led by true entrepreneurs. Family-owned drugstores, sporting goods stores and butcher shops have become a thing of the past, replaced by "big box" mega-stores visible from major highways. Dry cleaning, by contrast, has not witnessed this kind of consolidation. The dry cleaner is one of the few places where a consumer can go and still expect to be known by name and receive good customer service and professional clothing care.

There are approximately 30,000 drycleaners located across the country. These businesses range in size, but the majority are single-facility, family-owned operations whose owners live and work in the community. It is estimated that the dry cleaning
and laundry industries employ a diversified workforce of more than 200,000 people nationwide, with an estimated $2.5 billion payroll. (Source: International
