Chris Allsbrooks is an Affiliate Member of the FabriCare Foundation Board of Trustees and has been a textile analyst in International Fabricare Institute's (IFI) International Textile Analysis Laboratory (ITAL) since 1992. Her daily duties include helping ITAL analyze approximately 10,000 damaged garments, household textiles, hospital linens and various other items each year.
Known for conveying complex research data and garment care concepts to a wide range of audiences, Chris' reputation as a garment inspector and fashion guru is well-renowned. She is the featured speaker on many of IFI's training videos as well as at numerous conventions, including: the Minnesota Cleaners Association; Wisconsin Fabricare Institute; South Eastern Fabricare Association; North East Fabricare Association; California Cleaners Association; seminar presenter at Clean '95, '97, '99, '01, '03 and '05; and requested speaker at Southwest Drycleaners Association's Conventions and Trade Shows for the last six years.
Chris' television speaking engagements include: Good Morning America; WTTG-TV Fox 5 Morning News; WJLA-TV in Washington DC ; and WMAR-TV, Baltimore , MD , among others. She also has extensive experience conducting radio interviews and publication interviews, including: Martha Steward Living, In Style Magazine, Glamour, GQ, Men's Health, Wall Street Journal, The Boston Globe, American Drycleaner, National Clothesline and Drycleaner News.
Before joining IFI, Chris spent much of her career in retail. She holds a Bachelor's degree in fashion merchandising and textile marketing from the University of Maryland , College Park , as well as two prestigious professional cleaning certifications: Certified Professional Drycleaner (CPD) and Certified Professional Wetcleaner (CPW).

Steve Boorstein, The Clothing Doctor ® , is an Affiliate Member of the FabriCare Foundation Board of Trustees and President of Fashion Media Group, LLC , an international company that books lectures, publishes newsletters, and provides services for the clothing industry. He is also Executive Director for Leading Cleaners Internationale (LCI) and a top graduate of the International Fabricare Institute, where he is an Advisory Board member. Steve also heads WebDesign600.com, a cutting-edge web design company for the clothing industry.
Steve has worn many hats during his 30 years in the business. Growing up as third-generation drycleaner, Steve spent 10 years as owner of a clothing store, where he learned about clothing from the retail and merchandising side. He then went on to own and operate his own dry cleaning business. Today, Steve is most famously known as the author of The Ultimate Guide to Shopping and Caring for Clothing . As an expert on fabric care, he spends his days teaching people (from mothers to corporate executives) how to make their wardrobe and household fabric items last longer by addressing all aspects of shopping, caring, cleaning, altering and storing.
Steve has been a guest on The View (with Barbara Walters), Good Day New York , CBS News, and has written and appeared on various Satellite Media Tours . He has been interviewed in more than 200 newspapers and magazines and appeared on over 100 radio shows. Steve also wrote, produced and hosted a national radio show called The Clothing Doctor, in which he interviewed important and renowned fashion and clothing-care professionals. Along the way, he has restored clothing for Lynda Carter, Hillary Clinton, Elton John, two Chief Justices, sports team owners and thousands of clothing lovers. He also works closely with retailers and designers, presenting clothing-care seminars at Neiman Marcus, Saks, Nordstrom, Versace and Chanel Boutique.

Barry Gershenson is a dry cleaning industry veteran with more than four decades of experience as owner of Sterling Fine Cleaning in Los Angeles , California . A third-generation drycleaner and owner of Sterling Fine Cleaning since 1963, Gershenson has grown the operation to include two retail locations, five home delivery routes and 60 employees. He currently serves on the Board of Trustees of the FabriCare Foundation; a Board Director of Internatonal Fabricare Institute (IFI) for District 8 (California and Hawaii); Past President and past Board Member California Dry Cleaners Association; Past President and current Board Member Greater Los Angeles Dry Cleaners Association; and current Member and active participant in Leading Cleaners International.
Gershenson, who was named "California Cleaner of The Year" in 1998, and received the Dorothy Lyle Management Scholarship for achieving the highest grade average for the year at the IFI General and Management Course. He has experience speaking across several platforms including full-day seminars on "Creating and Developing A Dry Cleaning Route Service" and being a current trainer of "Basic Leadership Training" for a Men's Support and Training organization. |

Laurie Wilson is an Affiliate Member of the FabriCare Foundation Board of Trustees and President and Founder of the L. Wilson Group, LLC, a professional coaching, consulting and training organization. Laurie has more than 20 years of experience speaking on behalf of the dry cleaning and fashion industries in education and customer service capacities. She has served as a speaker for many national and regional cleaners' association conferences, including: the International Fabricare Institute; The Clean Show 2001; Northeast Sanitone Conference; California Fabricare Association; and the Northeast Fabricare Association. She is also an Adjunct Professor for the College of Design Architecture Art and Planning (DAAP) at the University of Cincinnati, Ohio.
Laurie has conducted customer service representative (CSR) training for several dry cleaners around the country, and is a regular speaker/trainer for Prestige Cleaners in Knoxville , TN. She also writes a regular article on "The Human Factor" for the American Drycleaner monthly publication, where she touches upon the "human" element as it relates to service, CSR knowledge and forward-thinking leadership ideas for owners and management. Famous as the "cover mom" for Working Mother magazine in March 1998, Laurie is a wife and mother of two. She represents the target audience: a busy woman who runs a busy family and can address the concerns of a real consumer.
Before starting her own company, Laurie spent more than 20 years in the retail industry, 17 of which were with Mercantile Stores Co., Inc., serving most recently as Corporate Director of Fashion, Trend and Special Events where she educated merchants on upcoming seasonal trends. Prior to that, she held the position of Fashion/Promotion Director for McAlpin's Department Stores. Laurie's television speaking engagements include: serving as the CBS affiliate "Fashion Expert" on a weekly news show, as well as doing all press appearances and retail events for Mercantile's corporate headquarters, including serving as the anchor for a monthly video newsletter. She has appeared as a news guest, radio guest and interview source for more than 20 years. Laurie has a B.S. in fashion merchandising from The Ohio State University, Columbus.
